Hi there! It's the year 2020. We've got about 11 months to make this place properly cyberpunk, so we've got some work to do. We've already done dystopia, it's old and tired, time to knock down any systems trying to keep that going.

You might've noticed a few changes over the past few weeks. I've tweaked my name to Setsune Wave to best fit the Synthwave life (yes I know the fad is already played out and I really don't care like what you like and also it's literally 2020). Also, I like being a raccoon, it's too good of a fit, but I've been pretty tired of my fursona. When your fursona isn't even that interesting to you, that's a problem, right? So I've scripted out some changes, and will be getting a proper ref sheet commissioned shortly. Chief among the changes are more of an expression of Gender Fluidity. The character may primarily present feminine, but there may sometimes be other aspects present, and sometimes not. With that said, if you aren't already, I'd really appreciate you using She / They pronouns when referring to me online. When I debuted on FA, it was as a tigress, so for some people this won't be a change. Life is a curious path.

So, what else is going on? Well, Rulent Tower has been puttering along, if you haven't been paying attention. The current plan is to release a "Move-In Day" build that covers the first day, and see where interest is from there. As fun as an exercise it has been to develop a Game Boy game (and work with the incredibly user-friendly GB Studio, https://www.gbstudio.dev/ ), I'm itching to start putting some more time into Oculus Quest development while the iron is hot. I've already got some Babby's First VR running on the headset using the built-in hand tracking, so I'm eager to do more. But I also know there isn't much like Rulent Tower out there, so it fills a very weird niche, in a fun way. And it's a "game" under my belt, although the usefulness of "Late Night Cable Smut Parody with Furries" as resume fodder remains to be decided.

One thing I am aware of is that I haven't been keeping people outside of Patreon informed of what's going on. I have started making the News Posts go public after a month or so, but while you can follow my Patreon for free and be notified when those go public, it's still a bit out of your way. I will try to do a better job of keeping FA, Twitter, etc. updated with what I'm doing. I do stream fairly often, but at late-night hours. Still, feel free to follow my Picarto if you don't mind synthwave music and watching me draw a pixel, then erase it, then draw it again, all while making strange noises to myself. It's a great time.

Speaking of keeping places updated, is there any place I don't post to currently that you'd really like to see me at? Pillowfort, for example? newTumbl? I do technically have a Discord. I'm very bad about using it, but I can get better if people actually want that to be a thing. My main rule is that I want to stay away from any platforms that really enable awful people. Nazis, TERFs, Racists, Bigots, Misogynists, and anyone who argues on their behalf (like hate doesn't already have a big enough platform as it is) can piss off into the sun. I'm not enthusiastic about a platform that lets them thrive, through ignorance or ill intentions.

I do have one piece of maybe bad news: I've semi-retired SFM. I'm not saying Literally Never Again, but I feel like even if I wanted to pursue that general path, Blender would be a better option, rather than a glitch-filled tool that's been abandoned by the developer for over 5 years now. SFM was never really supposed to be public software in the first place, and it seems like whatever follow-up they might be using or designing isn't intended to be, either. (There is a limited SFM 2 for DOTA, but last I checked it was a step down in many ways.) Regardless of that, I just feel myself moving away from model puppetry and animation for the time being. I'm not sure I was bringing a lot to the table, it definitely was looked down on by some people (which was BS, I'll be honest, but it still got tiring), and it was pulling my focus away from game development. It could be a part of that, and don't you think for a second I'm going to stop making mature and adult furry works, but I wanted to set your expectations. I do understand that's why a lot of you followed me, back from the days when I was wiggling around CharleyFox and Little_Dragon's Cerinian in Poser, up until Boosette's boo-ty. I really appreciate it, and I hope you'll stick with me. But I wouldn't be surprised if making a declaration like this will dip my follow numbers a fair bit. The smart thing would be to not say anything. But I'm honest, not smart. I am sitting on a list of "SFM Tips" I'd hoped to make into a short video series, so I'm still deciding what to do with those.

And another thing that isn't smart, putting personally identifiable information on the internet! I have a birthday coming up in roughly 2 weeks, so here I am being greedy trash and putting up a Wishlist. I will say that a lot of the list is utilitarian, though, and much of the stuff near the top will actually help me make more content. You'd be surprised at the difference a few cords can make. The list is here: https://smile.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1F2VIY4BW1BX1?ref_=wl_share (The Smile link doesn't mean you pay any extra, Amazon just donates a little bit to the charity of your choice for each purchase. There's a lot of selection there. I'd recommend EFF or your nearby Planned Parenthood, but it's up to you what you choose!) On more manageable terms, you can buy me a coffee or two on Ko-Fi, or Shinies on FurAffinity. And there is always my Patreon, which will net you early previews and playtesting of content often before public release, as well as your name in the Credits when I can add them.

Ok, that's enough panhandling. Thank you one and all for joining me on this trash panda's peculiar and perilous path, and I hope you enjoy what's coming next!

First of all, apologies for the super-quiet. I've been keeping my Patreon and Project Twitter updated, but I've only just now got PostyBirb set back up. Basically, while I was streaming Untitled Goose Game on my Picarto for a bit of fun, my PC gave up the ghost. I thought at first it was just the power supply, but swapping that out didn't help in the slightest. I was at a place where I was going to have to potentially do a lot of work to get my PC up and running, and invest money into a rather older build, so I bit the bullet and decided to switch everything over to my laptop. I had to buy enclosures for my SSD and internal hard drive, and both turned out to be garbage for different reasons, so I'm copying over my files to another external temporarily so I can return them and get better ones, but at least I'll have access to my files now, including Rulent Tower.

I'd really hoped to be done with this by now, but the process is slow. I still have to install a bunch of programs and get everything working again. While this does take a lot of needed upgrades for my desktop off the table, it also means I can't use my desktop video card without paying $300-400 for an enclosure, and I'd like to upgrade the memory. Not to sound like begging, but if you do want to support, my Patreon and Ko-Fi are right there (I've never gotten a single Ko-Fi donation at all. That's weird, right?), and I've been listing parts and other things I need on an Amazon Wishlist. It's really hard to ask for assistance when I know my output has sucked lately, but I might as well still put it out there.

I also went to the local game developer expo, GDEX. It's really grown since the last time I went! It's both encouraging and discouraging, in weird ways. Got to see and shake the hand of Adam Boyes of Sony, Iron Galaxy, and drunken Giant Bomb broadcasts fame. Found a voice actress that might work for some future content? Depending on the project and their limits, of course. It's also fun to spot furries vending at non-furry events. I felt bad because I was a bit on a budget, and I totally wanted to say that useless "I love your stuff, I just can't afford it right now!" line. But I mean it!

Last thing, as this external drive grinds loudly away, a friend of mine released their game, Isotower! It's a Sim Tower-style tower building simulation game. They've been working on it for years, and it's built up from ground level C++ libraries; no Unity, no Unreal. You should give it a look: https://thedaian.itch.io/isotower

That's it for now! More Rulent Tower very soon!

Hey there! As I was writing the most recent fic, I realized I didn't have an updated list of my Guidelines. What I currently do, what I like to work on, what I won't touch. So below you'll find the list I've put together. But first...

"What do you do?"

I actually dabble in a lot of different fields. In most I consider myself an amateur, but I've certainly spent more time in some than others.

Some of the mediums I work in include:
Game Development (Unity and GB Studio, but open to other platforms)
2D Sprites (usually low-resolution retro sprites)
3D Models (MagicaVoxel, a little Blender)
3D Animation (SFM, again a bit of Blender)
Writing & Editing

I've messed with a few other fields like Video Editing, Podcasting, et cetera, so I at least know the basics and have the equipment for those fields.

I primarily create PG-13 - Adult content, but can work on a G/PG creation or project. My nickname may carry that "mature content" baggage with it, if that's a problem for you, but in reality I can compartmentalize myself pretty well.

Right now, I'm looking for a long-term, paying project. Preferably a NSFW Furry Game production, which is a niche inside of a niche, so I'm also interested in other short-term requests, such as voxel models, sprites, editing, etc. Due to past experiences I'm going to be selective as to what I commit to, and will expect either half or full payment up-front. I don't work for exposure, and you should never ask anyone to do that. Please contact me with the details of your project if you're interested in rates.

Art Guidelines/Limits

(Warning, the following content delves into NSFW subjects, for the sake of clarifying my limits.)
Here's a list of my personal artwork preferences/limits. This might also be a good place to look if you ever think about gracing me with gift artwork! I'll start off with a short list for quick browsing, then explain each one in further detail down below.
Note that a lot of this list pertains to "as a gratification" for mature works. If I'm telling an extended story, of course a character can die in it, as part of the plot. But the point of those isn't to explicitly detail said death. Some of these are hard limits either way, but know that I chose these standards, so if I deviate from them, that's a choice I'm also making, and it isn't up for debate or argument. This is also not meant to kink-shame, and I have very good friends that enjoy some of the subject matters on this list that I just do not. These are my own personal preferences and limitations in my artwork and expression.

Expanded info:

In general, my preferences lean toward Happy Sex, with everyone involved having a positive experience and eager to participate. Consent is really important. At the least, even if a scene may initially start out with uncertainty, by the end I prefer the reaction to be "Oh, that was quite nice" or to reveal it was a prearranged situation. (Yes, kinky consenting adults in real life do negotiate "kidnapping" scenes, I have seen this with my own eyeballs.) This is all fiction, so I grant no one (in the mediums I work in) is really hurt, but I personally don't enjoy creating pieces that include physical, psychological, etc. trauma. As part of a story it may be necessary, as I described above, but you're generally not meant to enjoy or like it as the reader.

I sometimes think of my depictions of characters more as the Porn Parody versions; like they're actors clocking in for a job, rather than explicitly the "canon" character. That's why I played loose and fast with a certain blue vixen for years, instead of obsessively trying to root her in her preexisting official fiction. Please don't get upset if I do or don't do something to a character that is very important to you. This has happened before, and it really shouldn't. Think of these as Alternate Universe versions if that helps you. And I definitely don't want to hear about how one character sucks, and I should use another, unless that character's creator is explicitly problematic. (Alt-Right, Abuser, Stolen, etc.)

I'll work on a wide range, from G - XXX, but my work tends toward the PG-13 - X range. I tend toward slightly explicit pin-ups. But I don't mind more, or less.

<3 (I really enjoy these subject matters, even if I'm not always the best at depicting them!)
----
Dirty Talk: Eagerness is hot! Telling people what you're going to do is hot! Yes, some people actually like trashy porn dialogue.
First-Person View (FPV): Eye contact with the viewer, maybe even talking to them in a way that breaks the "Fourth Wall". You may or may not be able to see "your" body.
Revealing Outfits: It's not effective armor, but it's fun. Sometimes this can be paired with confidence, or teasing, or slight embarrassment, or a wardrobe malfunction, etc. Sling V-Kinis, Fishnets, even that "Rear Window Dress" you might find in an old request in my account...
Flashing, Invitations: I like teasing! I like clear signs! I like "Manager's Special" fantasies.
Parody / Rule 34: You'd probably never guess this one. I really like being able to share popular fiction with other people, telling stories without having to introduce every small detail, but also being able to put different spins on it, or play toward similar interests.
"As a Recording/Photo/Etc": Depicting a scene, but as it might be seen on a TV, or in a photograph, or through an old-school video camera, or a webcam, or even a VR display. Static, frayed edges, overlays, etc.
Consentacles (Consensual Tentacle fun!): Tentacles are neato fun, and there's no reason the character has to hate it unless you want them to. Obviously some characters as written would not get along with the concept. (Trauma, etc.)
Persuasion/Romancing/Performance (including Sex Work): This can be bartering, or seduction, or working in a strip-club or brothel. Full consent, not under duress. Bat Thief may not need that shiny jewel, but maybe a quick flash or bit of fun can get the security guard to look the other way. Dances of all sorts are also very nice.
Size Difference: Some difference in height between partners, usually a few feet. Enough to where one could feasibly pick up the other. Like a human with a Naga, or a normal height anthro with a Mobian. All are adults in these instances, of course.
Shortstacks: Full adults, but with a "short and thick" build. Like the old "Super-Deformed / Chibi" anime style. Midna is a prime example.
Werewolves: I guess don't even bother with the human part. Just big ol' bipedal wolves in a sexy fun pack.
Slightly bigger/Bestial Paws: Not excessively so, but like Felicia, or Rouge the Bat even, that sort of approaching Mega Man proportions.
"Wild" Kemono: Referring to the more Japanese style of "hybrid" furries. Johji Manabe might be a good example of what I'm referring to.
Ahegao: Goofy sex faces show they're enjoying it. Not a "have to have". but in moderation I enjoy it. Hard to get right.

Sure (Should be groovy, barring any peculiar details.)
----
(Probably anything not listed, contact for further clarification if you have any doubts!)

Maybe (Generally in order from more likely to less. I will consider these with some talking, but may have some caveats or restrictions.)
----
Bondage/BDSM: I don't really have a problem with consensual BDSM-based content. I have been in large rooms with the screaming and the whipping and the rope, and I understand a lot about it. The main reason it's in the Maybe section is that it tends to be more difficult to depict in the mediums I work with, and good content about it requires a certain mindset I generally don't have. It's the whole "I'm fine with it, but it does nothing for me, so I may not be able to give it the 'love" it needs."
Hyper: I'm leaning a little more toward this than I used to, but seeing a lot of extreme versions of this content can burn you out on it quickly, when it isn't your personal interest.
Pregnant/Impregnation: I'm still sussing out how I feel about depicting "breeding" fantasies (a friend of mine has a sister raising a kid from someone who did that and skipped out), but I don't directly have a problem with impregnation sequences or depicting pregnant characters. Again, not my interest, but ok.
Peeing/Watersports: I sort of have a vague interest in this, but only up to a point. I think I'm good with the depiction of peeing, less so with doing something with the pee after it has exited the body.
Rimming: Clean butts, of course. This is fantasy, they can be sparkling.
Humiliation: This is kind of contextual? It should be consensual, and even then, I can sometimes feel uncomfortable trying to depict it.
Ear/Nipple Sex: This seems to be growing in popularity, or maybe I'm just seeing more of it. It has to be non-destructive, which doesn't entirely make sense, but neither does a lot of other fantasy kinks.
Macro: It's popular, it doesn't do much for me, but I suppose it's generally fine. I've made a little bit before. No fully squishing people. Nobody gets hurt.
Aged-Up Characters (Furry/Anthro): This is a hard one, and I may need to adjust it. Because they are fantasy characters, that don't have an anchor in reality, and in general these are alternative non-canon depictions anyway, I think I'm OK with aging up a furry character to clear adulthood to interact with other characters. I as the author know I intend to depict them as adults, so please don't try to argue that I don't know what I'm trying to do, and I'm actually doing something else. That said, I do intend to avoid some characters because they tend to be chosen for youth depictions more often than not. I'm also keeping this rule specifically to furry/anthro only.
Extremely Soft Vore (the softest!): Described further down below, but I don't like content where the person is "lost" or injured. "Oh hey I'm in the fun warm saliva bag I chose to get in and I can get out easily" is about as far as I'm good with.
Incest (Fantasy/Consenting Adults): Consenting Adults only. It's definitely a weird subject. You can't get around it in some fandoms, like Undertale. Do clones count? Future/Past selves? Everyone has to be an adult and there can't be a whiff of abuse. Roleplay is far more likely than Reality.
Non-Consensual (Tentacles/Monsters/etc. preferred): Consent is a big part of my preferences, but I have to grant that these aren't real people getting hurt, they're imagination. Even still, I prefer to keep this to obviously fantasy situations, rather than a normal person acting as an abuser.
Age-Players (Adults acting/dressing in younger or infantile manners): This is probably a Nope, but talk to me about it. Again, no judgment about consenting adults playing pretend with each other, just my personal preferences.

Nope (Sorry. For one reason or another I am uncomfortable working on these subject matters. This is not a judgment about the fetish or interest itself, barring two or three that should be obvious.)
----
Fat or Feeding: I grew up with someone who struggled and suffered because of their weight. Even as a fantasy, it's robbed me of perceiving enjoyment from it. This is not meant to shame anyone.
Vore (Normal/Hard): I don't like to include death in my content, and the "finality" of the process is often a major component of many vore works I've seen. I especially don't like the panicking prey/"Ha ha too late you're going to die" aspect of some of these works.
Gore or Significant Injury/Dismemberment: Of course a bruise or scratch is fine. And depending on the story being told, I might opt to include something tragic happening. But for sexy fun-times works, this is out. The exception may be robotic limbs, such as on a synth or a certain half-robo rabbit.
Mind-Wiping/Breaking/Merging: Like death, I don't like loss of the "Self". It's ok for a character to find out they have a secret slutty side, or to go crazy while being stimulated, but at the end of the day I want them to still be them. I understand there could be arguments made about including "Merging", but in my view it presents similar personal troubles.
Living People (Stars, Actors, Models, etc.): I always find it weird and uncomfortable when people draw fan-art of actual living people, in particular mature art. Unlike cartoon characters, there is a real anchor and comparison point in the world, a person who can actually express or revoke consent. The exception is when the person directly requests this themselves, but there isn't much likelihood that's going to come up with my work, so I put this into Nope.
Scat (including filled Diapers), Vomit: I don't do the doo.
Ferals: I don't do the Doo either. I can bend the rules a bit with monsters, but generally I want bipedal anthropomorphic, and I want something going on behind the eyes. Wolf Link is basically the limit, and that's mainly because of his pairing with Midna, and because he's Definitely Link and turns back all the time. Sorry, no Lion Kings, and definitely no "(Character) sucks off a horse".
Aged-Up Characters (Human): Fantasy is fantasy, unfortunately because it's not a fantasy species (and don't 1,000-year-old Dragon me), the line is just too blurred, often the intent isn't as clear, and that's not even getting into the law. The only reason I'd POSSIBLY consider Aged-Up Furry/Anthro is because they literally don't exist; there is no such thing, period. Depicting humans, on the other hand, that's too uncomfortable. My choice is no.
Hate Art: This includes the obvious racist/sexist/bigoted content, and also "Revenge" art. And if I get any hint you're the type of person that enjoys that sort of thing, or are in general an awful person, I reserve the right to not work with you, and/or cancel any existing projects in progress.
C*b/L*li/Sh*ta/Und*r*ge: Let's avoid those search terms, hopefully. This subject matter absolutely squicks me. Depicting biologically and/or mentally young characters in mature subject matters is a Definite No.

Something I don't mention here much is that I do status updates on what's been going on, and what my plans are for the next month. These are Patreon-exclusive for the first month, but I schedule them to become public once the month is up. I've also started reading off Patron names in the audio versions! (I got a bit goofy with this one.)

The current update is here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/september-update-29590718

Boy, that Sonic Movie trailer, huh? I know you've heard a million hot takes on it. Honestly, I'm so numb to the weirdness of it at this point, I'd just be happy if they changed Sonic's design to be less "weird small naked man". And it's probably too late and too expensive to do that, so I'm not counting on that either.

Project-wise, I've been jumping back and forth between a few different things. Earlier in the month I was focusing on Blender 2.8, as you saw with some of the demo models I was making. I made a rough test model, Krystal naturally, but it feels weird making a model using someone else's model as reference, and it's clearly not up to prime-time. I was hoping to use Warfaremachine's Krystal to do a small Easter loop in Blender, but I had problems with missing textures and getting it to work right, and so I'm sorry to say that didn't pan out. It's so frustrating when you know 80% of what to do, but that 20% is just enough to hold you back from getting anything done?

I picked up a course from GamesPlusJames on 3D platformer design to get back into Unity 3D development. It's a handy refresher, as well as touching on some elements that are new to me, like Cinemachine cameras. The grand plan is to be able to use Blender to develop and animate some Programmer Art I can use for my game projects, as that was a roadblock I ran into a lot last time I started into Unity 3D. This means I keep flipping between learning the two on different days, which isn't the most efficient way to go about things.

To top that all off, I've been experimenting with the recently-released GB Studio. For relatively early software that outputs actual, playable Game Boy rom files, it's incredibly intuitive and polished. It's a lot of fun to toy with, and as you've seen, I started a project which I called "Sexy Woods" because it was literally the first thing out of my head. It's going to be a short story set in a Rule 34 Universe, mostly tongue-in-cheek and suggestive rather than actually lewd. I couldn't even sprite clothes on Kry- SPACE VIXEN because 16x16 and 3 colors + transparency makes for some tricky detailing.

I also switched my Patreon over to Tip + Credits Only, and BOY HOWDY was that a mistake! DeflatingBalloon.wav and everything. I am considering including $10 (and possibly early $5) backers as custom-sprited NPCs in Sexy Woods, complete with your own comment. I'm not going to push this until the start of the next month, but if you backed now, I'd certainly remember it: https://patreon.com/setsune

That's about it for now. I have a story project in mind, but it's nothing more than an outline at the second, and I'm actually deciding whether I want it to be a simple written story, or a short Game Boy project like Sexy Woods, or even something in Unity. I'm still not great at managing scope. I did start on a SFM animation for someone, but it's not progressed beyond Set Dressing. I'll get back to it, but I admit that I really want to focus on at least Unity and GB Studio.

So you've probably noticed I tailed off uploading quickly. Not by choice, but any stills I uploaded have been regularly getting deleted. I still think it's a little hypocritical, but I also know when there's a growing perception something is "easy" or "not your work", it can be hard to fight it.

I've been learning to make my own models in Blender 3D. The 2.8 update has been a massive improvement is accessibility, and coupled with a few tutorials I've made a few small things. I'm dabbling with a Krystal so far, but it's a practice model, not really something meant for primetime.

I've shifted my Patreon to get rid of the exclusive content aspect, so now it's a tip jar with the added bonus of getting Credited on some major releases. The obvious result of this is my membership dropped dramatically. So hey, if you feel like tossing a few dollars my way, and would like to see your name show up on renders and other projects, by all means sign up at my Patreon or buy me a coffee. It really friggin' helps.

More things soon! If you want to keep up on my still renders, best places are FA and IB. Hopefully I'll generate more content soon that I can actually post here.

So, I was under the understanding that SFM was a-ok for Newgrounds. But I had all of my stills wiped out, pointing to the usual complaints about collaborative 3D scenes. These character models and scenes are made for other people to use them, in some cases I contribute to Patreons to fund the artists so they can continue making these sorts of things. But "you didn't build that", so all the work of scene dressing, posing/animating, compositing, color correcting, etc. gets thrown away. At least the movies section hasn't been touched yet, and obviously I would prefer it stay that way, but I really don't know if it will.

That sucks. Just thank god this site isn't filled with animations using ripped video game sprites or anything. So much for this being my new home.
